The Age of Wisdom

As we approach the end of 2012 we are reminded about the ending and beginning of cycles.

On one level we celebrate the end of another year and get to reflect on the year that has been and what the year ahead of us may bring. On another level we have all, notwithstanding prophetic claims about the end of the world on 21 December 2012 coinciding with the end of the 25,000 year Mayan calendar, survived to live another day.

It is important to remember that everything in our known universe operates through a cyclical process of expansion and contraction much like flowers that open in the morning and close at night and the process of life from birth to death. On a larger scale our planet earth travels on a voyage of its own within our solar system which exposes its inhabitants to different energy phases caused by different planetary alignments and our proximity to the heart of our solar system. It is these energy phases that some have labelled as different ages of the Zodiac.

We have now moved into the energy phase known as the “Age of Aquarius” the so called age of wisdom characterised by truth, purity, harmony and oneness.

As we gather together to celebrate the end of 2012 in our extended family units, sing songs of goodwill and peace to all and express our love to our immediate loved ones it is now even more relevant that we recognise that we are all members of a bigger family- that of the “human family”. It has been the ignorance of  this fundamental truth of our oneness that  has led to a year characterised by worldwide violence and intolerance towards each other.

When we have created societies that celebrate the ownership and use of  weapons and seek to justify our right to bear arms against others as a fundamental freedom, surely we cannot really pretend to be surprised and shocked when those very weapons are turned against those in our society least capable of protecting themselves. When we sit back and do nothing to intervene to stop a dictatorship when it sets out to systematically kill its own innocent people we  should not be surprised that as a species we could be described as pathologically insane. Such events are but examples of the many acts of badwill and war that we perpetrate agaisnt each other on a daily basis.

Not satisfied with our bad behaviour towards each other for most of the year those of us in the Western world then pretend that for one day in the year we are really all okay and we preach goodwill and peace to everyone. We  collectively contract and suffer from what can only be described as a mind virus the symptoms of which include rampant consumerism and greed in the guise of giving. After that is all and done we then revert to our usual bad behaviour for the next 12 months. The pattern repeats. If  we keep doing what we have always done we will continue to get what we have always gotten.

Forgive me for appearing cynical but there is a point to all of this. We have now come to the end of a cycle of time characterised by and dominated  by our narcissistic egos which have sought to control and manipulate others through fear. We have been living in a lower energy vibration for over 25,0000. The beginning of a new cycle means we will have available to us a higher energy vibration which will unlock previously dormant abilities within us and open our minds to greater understanding and wisdom.

The evolution of the human species has reach a critical plateau and there is no turning back. It is only as we rise above our small mindedness and realise the real truth that every human being on this planet is our spiritual brother or sister can we with true sincerety wish one and all a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year!
